Cauld Blast Orchestra
The two Cauld Blast Orchestra albums, long out of print, are now available as digital downloads on Bandcamp. Both have previously unreleased bonus tracks – three tunes recorded for the abandoned third CD, and two for an unfinished compilation album on Eclectic Records. The latter includes a wonderful collaboration with the great Dundonian singer-songwriter Michael Marra, on his “The Homeless Do Not Seem to Drink in Here”.

Lockdown videos
I’ve been recording videos and posting them on my Facebook page every Thursday during lockdown. Very low-tech, using an effects pedal, loop station and my phone. Mainly my own stuff, but also covers of Beefheart, Soft Machine, Caravan and Ken Dodd! They’re now up on YouTube – look up “Steve Kettley entertains at home”. Here’s #5 – my version of a Henry Cow tune.

Somehow my club has reached its 100th edition! Five great acts I’ve been priveleged to put on several times will be playing on Thursday 28th February 2019.

Steve Kettley – “The Phoenix” A three movement suite recorded for Vision Mechanics in 2010. Featuring myself on soprano, alto, tenor & baritone saxophones, flute, jaw harp, melodica, conch shell and a vast array of percussion, including frying pan, colander, wok lids, gongs & drums.
Dmytro Morykit – “Summer Snow” Four duets from this wonderful pianist, featuring myself on tenor & soprano saxophones, recorded 2014.
Ron Shaw – “Runes” Two compositions by my old friend from the Cauld Blast Orchestra, Ron Shaw. Stirring cello with double tracked tenor & soprano saxophones, recorded 2014.

Stewart Hanratty & Rob Morsberger
Singer, songwriter and guitarist Stewart Hanratty died today, Monday 3rd June 2013, in Penicuik, after a brave battle with cancer. Also our mutual friend and fellow musician, Rob Morsberger, died at home on Sunday 2nd June 2013, in the Hudson Valley, north of New York City, after his own fight with cancer. Much loved by all their friends and family, we will miss them so much. Goodbye my old friends, lots of love.
